In 2019, Cape Fox Cultural Foundation (CFCF) began with a contract to operate a gift shop at the Southeast Alaska Discovery Center in downtown Ketchikan, selling U.S. Forest Service-approved educational and interpretive items. As such, we manage the inventory and stocking of products. We maintain products that further the mutual goals of promoting educational, interpretive, cultural, and scientific program needs. Examples of what we sell are publications, maps, visual aids, handicrafts, art, and other objects directly related to the interpretive and education theme of the U.S. Forest Service, as well as health and safety products, visitor convenience items, or other similar items.
As of November 2022, CFCF has been working on an artifact preservation project made possible by a grant from the Collections Management Fund of Museums Alaska, with generous support from Rasmuson Foundation to safeguard and display artifacts repatriated by the Sanyaa Kwáan belonging to the Teikweidi and Neix.ádi clans from the 1899 Edward H. Harriman Expedition.
